Event Calendar Santa Fe – Cowboy Movie Night at the New Mexico History Museum
The New Mexico History Museum is putting on a series of Cowboy movies that have been a part of New Mexico and shaped it’s history and economy for the last 80 plus years. From 6 – 8 p.m. Friday July 19, 2013 oral historian Jack Loeffler talks about his friendship with the author of the novel ‘The Brave Cowboy’ by Edward Abbye and the making of Mr. Abbey’s book into the 1962 inconic Western movie “Lonely Are the Brave”. The film was made in the Albuquerque area.
Zia Diner suggests movie fans attending the event come to the company’s happy hour first before making their way to the New Mexico History Museum.
Friday, July 19, 6pm—Cowboy movie night: “Edward Abbey and Lonely Are the Brave,” with oral historian Jack Loeffler. Loeffler discusses his friendship with author Edward Abbey and the transformation of Abbey’s novel The Brave Cowboy into a 1962 icon of Western movies, filmed in and around Albuquerque.
