Event Calendar Santa Fe – The Santa Fe Opera Presents “La Traviata” 8:30 – 11 p.m. Saturday July 20, 2013

The amazingly popular and famous Santa Fe Opera delivers “La Traviata” to the stage from 8:30 – 11 p.m. Saturday July 20,2013. It is a story about a courtesan whose fate is sealed but still has a remaining bit of feelings toward a positive outcome. Love is on display here from famous opera writer Verdi. The opera also show the insincere world of a women in Paris taken care of by a lover. The opera features phenomenal opera singer Michael Fabian as Alfredo and Brenda Rae, a soprano of serious acclaim.

La Traviata is Verdi’s tenderest and most intimately observed depiction of love. But it also reveals the hypocritical realities behind the gorgeous facade of the Parisian demi-mondaine, brilliantly illuminated in this production by stage director and designer Laurent Pelly. Acclaimed soprano Brenda Rae returns to America to sing Violetta opposite the dashing Michael Fabiano as Alfredo. British conductor Leo Hussain conducts. – See more at: http://www.santafe.com/calendar/event/la-traviata#sthash.TIFIVwK2.dpuf
