The amazing Latin rythyms and Cuban music of SAVOR is set to be on stage at the ZIA DINER from 6 – 8:30 p.m. Thursday June 6, 2013. Led and founded by Victor Alvarez, this band brings Cuban street music to the Santa Fe. Mr. Alvarez is an award-winning mandolinist and guitarist of world renowned. Savor is very cool while using congas, hand percussion, vocals, acoustic bass, bongos and trap-set for bigger shows, the music that the group performs includes Cuban and Afro-Cuban sounds and rhythms based on the original Cuban “Son”; which is the grandfather of the modern ‘Salsa’ rhythms. The music is performed in an informal acoustic and street-like manner, making it raw and infectiously dance-able. In addition, SAVOR’s repertoire includes many other Latin American and Spanish songs for the eclectic and Latin hungry taste.  SAVOR,  which fans and music lovers now see performing in many venues in Santa Fe, is the product of several years of hard work and dedication to a personal quest of homage to a long vibrant Cuban heritage of great music and culture. The amazing Gypsy Jazz from the bygone era in France back in the 1930′s is brought to life by Swing Soleil. Featuring an all star line up of talented musicians, Swing Soleil plays a style of music that gets everyone in a good mood. This band is part of the monthly music line-up at the Zia Diner, playing twice monthly during most months. A terrific draw featuring amazing music, the Zia Diner feels very fortunate to be able to have this band on its stage 20 plus times per year.

Featuring wistful vocals and lyrical guitar work, Rio offers intimate interpretations of bossa nova and jazz. With Julia Yates at the mic and Tim Drackert on guitar, Rio coaxes eavesdropped whispers and resonate stories from these great American and Brazilian songs. While jazz fans dig the repertoire and chops, Rio’s original material and hip sensibilities appeal to a wide range of listeners, including fans of Pat Metheny, Norah Jones, João Gilberto, Madeleine Peyroux, Cassandra Wilson, Rebecca Martin and Billie Holiday.

The Santa Fe Opera has been serving up amazing operas for the better part of 50 years plus. Over the years virtually every classic opera imaginable has the graced the stage, enthralling audiences around the world. The 2013 Santa Fe Opera season will be no different with classic opera after classic opera set to hit the stage. Starting with the classic opera, Grand Duchess of Gerolstein from 8:30 – 11 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, the 2013 opera season at the Santa Fe Opera promises to be truly spectacular and enjoyable.

The Free Range Ramblers, a very cool band with a bevy of talented singers and musicians, is set to make their way to the stage once again from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013. Music in Santa Fe during the week isn’t a rare occurrence, but it is a school night so the chance to hear this band do their thing, which is harmonize, play fiddle, guitar and the upright bass, on a Thursday night is definitely a great option to consider for something to do in Santa Fe.  We invite everyone to come down and enjoy this cool band. The summer tourist season is heating up in Santa Fe with tons of music, attractions, museum special events and the ever present Santa Fe Artists Market at the Santa Fe Railyard. All summer long each and every Saturday Santa Fe artists gather in designated booth spots along the path at the Santa Fe Railyard to market their art. Each artist has to pay a daily booth fee to set up shop and sell. Far from the expensive space in downtown Santa Fe but offering plenty of great art and jewelry the Santa Fe Artists Market offers tons without the hassle of having to park and walk all over downtown Santa Fe. Plus the Santa Fe Farmers Market is just across the street on the west side of the Santa Fe Farmers Market Pavillion. It showcases farmers selling vegetables, bakers selling bread and pastries and other folks selling natural product for skin and health, just to name a few.
