The History of Our Building
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Zia Diner
building was originally built as a coal warehouse for the
rail yard around 1880. Through the mid part of the 20th century, it
served as an auto body shop.
In 1920, the building was remodeled and the California Mission Revival
curvilinear façade was added.
In 1986 the building was once again remodeled and opened as the Zia
Diner on December 31, 1986.
