The Santa Fe Traditional Winter Spanish Market is an annual celebration of Spanish colonial arts including furniture, weaving, pottery and more. Approximately 250 artists come to exhibit and sell their work each year, and collectors come from all over the world to purchase artwork at the market. In addition to art, the event features live entertainment, local cuisine, demonstrations and gifts that represent the culture and heritage of New Mexico. The event has continually expanded over the years, but at a slow growth in order to remain focused on quality. Nearly 70,000 visitors attend the annual market, and it is an exciting event for families with children to attend.
The Santa Fe Traditional Winter Spanish Market includes a youth market where young artists can showcase their artwork. Each of the youth artists is required to work with a Spanish Market mentor so that they can learn traditional methods and materials. This is so that the art forms can be preserved for the future. The Santa Fe Traditional Winter Spanish Market takes place in Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town on Friday, November 29th from 2 PM to 9 PM, and on Saturday, November 30 from 9 AM to 5 PM.
