Things to do in Santa Fe – Visit the Georgia O’Keefe Museum

Long time New Mexico resident and since departed Georgia O’Keefe was a prolific artist loved by art patrons and art collectors the world over. Santa Fe, NM, is the benefactor of O’Keefe’s amazing career due to the fact that The O’Keefe Foundation made the city their choice for the Georgia O’Keefe Museum back in the 1990’s. There are now 1,000 plus O’Keefe pieces in possession of the museum making it the place to view many of the great paintings done by the master artist Georgia O’Keefe. Additionally, besides being the primary place housing many of O’Keefe’s work, the museum shows pieces of many current accomplished artists as well.

The Georgia O museum is located at 217 Johnson Street, Santa Fe, NM. Its hours are as follows:

Sunday  10 AM – 5 PM
Monday  10 AM – 5 PM
Tuesday  10 AM – 5 PM
Wednesday  10 AM – 5 PM (Last Wednesday of every month (Sept 2012-May 2013): 12PM-5PM* )
Thursday  10 AM – 5 PM
Friday  10 AM – 7 PM
Saturday  10 AM – 5 PM

The admission fees are as follows:

  • General Admission – $12
  • New Mexico Residents – $6
  • Seniors 60+ – $10
  • Students 18+ with ID – $10
  • Military and Law Enforcement – $6
  • Youth and Students 18 and Under – FREE
  • First Friday of the month, 5 – 7 PM, is FREE for New Mexico Residents only. (Regular admission charges apply all other Fridays 5 – 7 PM)
